Acting Chops:
A slang term used to describe ones "acting abilities." More specifically used in the Nugget Mental Hospital (N.M.H.) to describe Katee Sackhoff's acting abilities. (Example taken from an anonymous poster in the N.M.H.: To what extend do you love Katee Sackhoff? Or is it like...respect for her awesome acting chops? admiration of her general coolness and splendor? )
Act of Contrition:
This is season one's "Quintessential Katee Episode." This is an important episode for "every day" fans, and Katee fans alike. It has been defined as possibly one of the best episodes of season one, and tends to be the episode that really "hooks" fair-weather viewers. (If the Mini-series did not.) It is also the first major "cliff hanger" episode of the entire series. For Katee fans, it's a glorious episode because it features Katee's amazing Acting Chops , the Quivering Chin , and Starsex .
Battlestar Galactica:
Scifi had this amazing show, abbreviated to BSG, that Katee played this awesome character called Starbuck. In fact, it was so amazing, that it prompted a bunch of people to head over to the forums, dubbed "Skiffy" to chat about Katee, until they decided to create TeamSpank and use the Treehouse instead.
BionicSpank:
This term refers to a TeamSpanker who was first introduced to Ms Sackhoff's talents via her perfomance in Bionic Woman. Katee's Bionic efforts were the only truly engaging thing about that show - a fact acknowledged by television critics spanning the globe.
Bionic Woman:
There was once a show made years ago that we don't care about called Bionic Woman. However, it was remade and put on NBC and Katee played this awesome character named Sarah Corvus, and everyone liked her character so much, they thought she should have been the lead. See the "Bionic Gloat" article in a different section of the site.
Bitch Puddin':
It's surprising to many people that an animated character on Robot Chicken with less than 10 lines is so amazing, but the little Bitch really is. In fact, she may be the best character Katee's ever played.
BoyfriendScott:
This fellow. Boyfriend Scott is someone that all spanks rever for the simple fact that he is dating Katee Sackhoff. While most of the Spanks are straight girls (but in a funny way), we can not help but be both jealous and have the overwhelming desire to take his class "How To Make Katee Sackhoff Like You and Not Think You Are Creepy 101"
Bunk Withering:
This is a term used to describe the action that is taking place in Kara's bunk during the cold open of Maelstrom during her paintsex dream. The producers of the show felt the need to cut too scenes of the "real" Kara as she is having this dream. This was likely done to give the audience a more fully realized vision of what was taking place with the character. There is a light coat of sweat, a sports bra , and very impressive gyrating and withering. The audience, along with a minor character named "Hotdog", is allowed to "perv" on Kara while she is dreaming of Paintsex with Leoben.
Bunk Whithering
Brig, The:
An area of the Battlestar this is commonly used to keep prisoners and trouble makers. Kara had a short stay in the brig during the Mini-Series when she punched a superior officer named Colonel Tigh (played by Michael Hogan). She has yet to see the inside of the "brig" since that time, however there are implications that she will spend time there during some part of season four. It has also been implied that she will "scream" and generally "freak out" upon being in the brig, for mostly unknown reasons to the viewers (at this time.) Un-confirmed speculation is that Lee "Apollo" Adama (played by Jamie Bamber) and Samuel T. Anders (played by Michael Trucco) will attempt to simultaneously comfort Kara in her "distress" over "going the wrong way", and it will likely lead to Dirtysweatypilotsex.
The Brig
Collarbone:
Known to the medical community as a "clavicle," it is either of the two slender bones in humans (or colonials) that extend from the manubrium of the sternum to the acromion of the scapula. More commonly known by TeamSpankers as an area of Katee's body that one unnamed Spanker would quite enjoy "licking" and/or "nuzzling."
Come Frak Me Boots:
This is a "Battlestar" twist on boots more commonly known as "Come Fuck Me Boots" and/or "Hooker Boots." Katee Sackhoff has been spotted at various promotional events and Conventions wearing this specific style of boot. There are unconfirmed rumors that she does, in fact, have a Boot endorsement with certain boot manufacturing companies, as implied by her enthusiasm in wearing and buying this particular style of Boot.
ComeFrakMeBoots
Cort and Fatboy:
The most popular set of interviews among Katee's "Die-Hard" fans. She is noticeably relaxed with these gentlemen and has blessed us with such terms as "juggling." The general consensus of these interviews is that Katee sounds as if she is "gossiping" and/or "having a drink at a pub." (One could even describe her as "chilaxed" during these interviews; with the exception of the "cell phone interview", where she curses out a fellow driver. ) There is unconfirmed speculation that these interviews give her publicist migraine headaches, due to her lack of discretion and overall "laissez- faire" attitude about possibly saying something naughty.
Dirtysweatypilotsex:
(unconfirmed speculation) This is what will take place during the "brig" scene in season four. Law of Averages, allow Katee fans to keep the word "pilot." in this cluster of letters . The transition from pilot to civilian (Lee), and civilian to pilot (Anders) allows for "pilot" to remain. (despite technicalities.)
Dirtysweatypilotsex
Dualla:
When TeamSpankers get together in the forums for a chat, things can occasionally get a little too frisky. In that event, we have a 'safe-word': Dualla.
Erick Sackhoff:
The term "Spank" was apparently first used for Katee's brother, Erick. While we continue to use the term "Spanks" for ourselves, we do recognize that Erick Sackhoff is the "One True Spank".
Fifteen and Pregnant:
Katee's first acting role, where she played a pregnant teenager in a Lifetime movie. She had one scene with a monologue, and demonstrated her acting chops quite nicely even at a young age. She was originally not going to have a speaking role, but the people working at the movie realized how talented Katee was and begged her to take this role instead. Okay, it might not have happened like that. But I bet it was close.
Full Helmet:
Something Katee needs.
God:
When not talking about Katee Sackhoff - because she is GOD - the Spanks usually mean MaxiSpank.
Incredible Inflatable Cleavage, The:
Various pictures of Katee Sackhoff (including some of her in the role of Kara Thrace) show an amount of cleavage that tends to change based on the outfit, not the actual size of her breasts. Multiple examples can be seen, where Katee appears to have the proper amount of cleavage to fill out a low cut dress. However, while she is playing Kara, she seems to have a much smaller amount depending on the whether or not she is wearing a sports bra or a Pyramid track suit.

Intense Jaw-line:
Known to the medical community as the mandible and the maxilla, it is the bone below the mouth (mandible) and the bone just above the mouth (maxilla) It's more commonly known, or described, in the N.M.H. to be her "freakishly awesome Jaw-line" this is often accentuated with pictures of various starsex scenes,, and more specifically in season three promotional photographs taken with her on-screen husband Samuel T. Anders
Intense Jaw-line
Juggling:
Part of Katee's mind-boggling skill set. She talked about her ability to juggle during a radio interview. While she remained vague on the various "tricks" she can do while juggling, and her specific skill level, she made it clear that she was, in fact, taught how to juggle by an older gay man. She also mentioned something about being slapped in the face with juggling balls. How unfortunate for her.
Juggling
Katee Sackhoff Appreciation Thread II, The:
This is the official thread in the SciFi.com forums for people to gather and appreciate Katee Sackhoff. It is the second one of it's kind, the first one reaching to over Eight-Thousand Pages. Now that BSG is over, that threads glory days are alas over, but it will forever stand as the birthplace of the Spankers.
Maelstrom:
This is season three’s Quintessential Katee Episode. In addition to being a fan favorite, it is also Katee Sackhoff favorite episode, according to her: “because I’m (she’s) in it a bunch.” It tends to be a fan favorite because it was a Kara episode, in a linty of “non-Kara” episodes. In addition to it being a fan favorite, it also features: Paintsex , Bunk Whitening , and various brilliant scenes that highlight Katee’s amazing acting abilities.
Maelstrom
Meatball and Nelly B:
Ms Sackhoff's pooches. Pugs (or pug-mutts).
Miraculous Quivering Chin, The:
This is a feature of Kara "Starbuck" Thrace. Often when the character is put in a situation where she is to express “sadness” or “angst” she will effectively portray emotion by way of “quivering” her chin. An example of this technique can be seen in the final scene of The Farm in her farewell scene with her love interest at the time, Samuel T. Anders. There is unconfirmed speculation that the “Miraculous Quivering Chin” will make an appearance once again at some point early in Season four.
Miraculous Quivering Chin
Nuggets:
A slang term used to describe the people that post in the N.M.H. It can be used in a solitary fashion, or given a pre-fix. In addition to the official titles, the word nugget can be given descriptive pre-fixes such as: Freak, and/or any other descriptive adjectives.
*Nuzzle Nuzzle* (Desired and/or Implied Action):
This word is generally written in italics , and posted under a picture of Katee Sackhoff. This would be considered a “desired” action. This particular desired action is readily scene in pictures where Katee’s collarbone and abs are readily visible in the photo. The implied “nuzzle” can be the person’s nose (in the case of the collarbone) or entire face (in the case of her abs.)
The Nugget Mental Hospital:
This is an alternative name for the Katee Sackhoff Appreciation Thread II at the official BSG forum It was named this due to the period of chaos - prior to, during, and after episode 317 (Maelstrom) aired on the SciFi network.
PaintSex:
This was the first scene in the cold open of Maelstrom in which Kara Thrace has a dream about the Mandala, and the cylon Leoben Conroy (played by Callum Keith Rennie ) In which Kara is wearing a man’s long sleeve white shirt, and black underwear that is visible to the viewer. She is franticly painting over the Mandala on the wall with paint when Leoben enters and they begin to roughly have sex among the paint. It is inter-cut with scenes of Kara “having” the dream in her bunk. This tends to be a very popular scenes for Katee fans and Callum fans alike. Some proponents of “cylon hate” will label this sequence as rape (or a rape fantasy), Starshippers simply label this scene as “really hot.” I
PaintSex
PhoneSpank:
Refers to a special type of Spanking done on one's cellphone. This is done similar to text messaging, but requires an internet connection, and is possibly quite expensive. Also, some phones do not handle the quote feature on the forums very well, so PhoneSpanking can be extremely difficult as well. One prolific PhoneSpanker is Swim, who makes wonderful posts on her iPhone.
Pillow Abs:
A compound word used by some Katee fans as a way to describe what they want to do, when they see her abs. The pre-fix is added when her abs are viewed, due to the fact that they invoke the desire to rest one’s head on them, thus the word “pillow.” It is not implying that they are “soft”, but that they are simply so impressive and “cut” that it invokes the desire to have her abs, become one’s pillow.
Pillow Abs
Portland:
The city in Oregon where Katee is from. Cort and Fatboy also are from here, which is why they give such awesome interviews.
Quintessential Katee Episode:
This is any episode of Battlestar Galactica that prominently features the character Kara Thrace. More popular ones would be Act of Contrition, Scar and Maelstrom. Others may include, but are no exclusive to: Flesh and Bone, The Farm, and Unfinished Business
Robe - Hair - Thigh Loop:
This endless loop of visualizing Kara: in a robe, with wet hair, and a piece of her bare thigh being slightly visible due to the robe. The idea originated in a fan-fiction, and generally acts as a “mental road block” for posters. At any point a poster in the N.M.H. can say “Robe – Hair – Thigh Loop” and it may or may not cause one or more posters to cease functional forum activity. It is still unknown what the various posters do while reacting to this, but it is commonly believed that they blankly stare at the computer screen while imagining this endless loop in their minds eye. More often than not, a picture is posted to help aid the endless loop that plays in the mind’s eye.
Robe - Hair - Thigh Loop

SpankAppendage:
The addition of "Spank" to someone's name. Usually, this is done after the name, for example: LittleSpank, MaxiSpank. However, there are a few cases when this is in the middle or beginning of someone's name for either humorous or practical purposes, for example: Ms Spanky, Spanktastic.
SpankFest :
A SpankFest occurs in the Treehouse when five or more members of TEAM SPANK are actively participating in forum discussion.
Spanking:
Is the term used to describe an act of talking about anything related to Katee or TeamSpank. Spanking can be done either in the SpankBlog on the mainsite or in posting in a thread at the Treehouse. Spanking is also possible at the Team Spank Livejournal community. Spanking can be done for short or long periods of time, and can be mindless or intense, depending on what is being Spanked about. TeamSpank encourages Equal Opportunity Spanking, so just Spank about anything!
SpankInvasion:
When the Spanks, as a large group, decide to invade some other website or forum. This has been done twice to Michael Trucco's forum, once to Livejournal, and once to Facebook. Probably more SpankInvasions will come in the future, because they are extremely fun and enjoyable.
Spanklopedia:
Someone who is extremely knowledgeable about TeamSpank. This person need not have been a Spank for a long time, but it is required that this person be a Spank, have the mainsite memorized, and have at least 2500 posts in the Treehouse. The resident Spanklopedia as of the time this entry is written is NightSpank, who is oddly enough also writing this entry to put in the glossary.
Spanktimony:
Everytime a new Spank joins, they are required to give their Spanktimony, usually after lots of prodding and interrogation. A proper Spanktimony includes how the Spank discovered Katee, what his or her favourite StarHair is, how he or she found TeamSpank, and a variety of other important points encompassing the amazing personal adventure leading to the discovery of Katee Sackhoff and the beginning of a brand new journey in life as a Spank.
SportsBra:
This is an article of clothing that has become a favorite of many Katee fans. It is prominently featured in episodes such as Unfinished Business and makes minor appearances in The Farm, Scar, and is sprinkled throughout various episodes spanning the current seasons of Battlestar Galactica.
SportsBra
StarBangs:
Kara Thraces haircut featured from 33 to Hand of God, when they vanished until Torn. However, they were not prominently visible until Hero. They made an appearance in Measure of Salvation, unfortunately for Katee fans, that scene was cut out of an otherwise dismal episode. However, a promotional photograph from that scene still frequents the Katee thread from time to time. The most noted episode featuring "Starbangs" is Unfinished Business, in which Starbangs are readily visible, and appear in the portion of the episode that takes place in the "present." There is a scene in the extended version of episode 309, in which "Starbangs" and "Starsex" are featured in unison. "Starbangs" make a final appearance in A Day in the Life and vanish around episode Dirty Hands. They are most visibly gone by Maelstrom. "Starbangs" as we know them from Season 1 and 3 are not likely to make an appearance again, however Katee Sackhoff does appear to have layered hair, and a modification of Starbangs is possible during season four. (But that is only speculation at this point in time.)
StarBangs
Starbuck:
Arguably, the best fictional character ever created. The only other thing you need to know is that Katee demonstrated her acting chops better than anyone else could have in this role... ever. And if you haven't seen Katee as Starbuck, you're not a Spank.
StarHair:
The hair of Starbuck. Always extremely epic. This can be separated into many different categories. The StarBangs have already been previously mentioned. Another popular style is the StarPony, which can be seen in most of Season 2, parts of Season 4, and Razor. Starbuck also has hair of varying lengths, for example, in New Caprica, it is long and wavy and reaches past her shoulders. In the miniseries, however, it is cropped short by her ears. However, every "version" of StarHair is perfect and should be loved, some more than others.
StarSmirk:
A specific grin and/or smirk and/or smile done by the character Kara Thrace. It has been seen under varying circumstances. The Starsmirk is seen under varying circumstances. It has been used to taunt (Hand of God), to imply that she is happy (Final Cut), and to torture various men in her life. (Unfinished Business) The range and ability she uses this tool to her disposal, is yet to be fully realized by her fans. They continue to find various versions of her “Starsmirk” and unconfirmed speculation indicates that the “Starsmirk” will appear once again in season 4. However, it may be fleeting because people are not likely to believe a Starsmirk implying “I found Earth, and I will take us there,” thus landing her in the brig.
StarSmirk
The smirk in action:
StarShip:
A “shlepper” is a fan who backs a pair of fictional characters. For example, there are many fans who “ship” the turbulent and yet steamy relationship between Battlestar Galactica characters Gaeta and Gius Baltar. “Starshippers,” however, are not discriminating. They actively encourage and celebrate any relationship that Kara has with any character.

StraddleStab, The:
This was a moment in the New Caprica arc that implied to the viewer that Kara Thrace had lost her entire mind by the time we see what her life has become in captivity. Being held by the cylon Leoben Conroy, it is implied that she continues to kill him, and he continues to come back and mentally torture her. The killing that we are allowed to view in (Occupation), is one in which she appears to place metal chop sticks through his neck, kick him over, and straddle him. She then proceeds to franticly stab him. It is unconfirmed speculation that Leoben does this, in order to get Kara to straddle him. He may or may not be willing to be stabbed to death in order to simply have her on top of him, even if it is in this violent manner. In this particular stabbing instance, she becomes excessively cryptic when she leans over him and says, in a disturbingly guttural voice, to “take your (his) time”
Swimming:
Before deciding to become the greatest actress ever to have worked on any project ever, Katee was going to do this for a large portion of her life. Unfortunately for her, a knee injury caused this not to work out. Then, however, she decided she was going to do something else that she was good at, and acting was her next choice.
TackleFrak:
The "Tackle Frak" or more commonly known as the "Tackle Frak Bomb" is a derivative of the "Tackle Hug" thread bomb that is used around the Battlestar Galactica forums. The "Tackle Hug Bomb" is simply a picture from Kobol's Last Gleaming: Part 2 in which a copy of the Six model (played by Tricia Helfer) is tackled by Kara Thrace, and the "Tackle Hug Bomb" is simply a picture from their fall. The "Tackle Frak Bomb", however, is a scene from Maelstrom, when the cylon Leoben Conroy (played by Callum Keith Rennie) enters Kara's dream and they have Paintsex. The specific scene used for the "Tackle Frak Bomb" is the point at which they show Kara and Leoben hit the floor from a distance, hence the implied "Tackle." The appropriate response to this "greeting" is the "Tongue You Can't Use That Word Here. It is Far Too Uncool for TeamSpank HQ."
TackleFrak
TeamSpank(er):
TeamSpank is the word used to describe posters in the N.M.H. who have the word “spank” somewhere in their handle. The word “spank” derived from an interview where Katee Sackhoff revealed that her older brother's friends called her “LittleSpank.” TeamSpanker, simply refers to an individual member of TeamSpank. When addressing a member of TeamSpank it is appropriate to add a pre-fix, usually something pertaining to the persons handle, in front of the word “Spanker.”
*THUD* (Desired and/or Implied Action):
This is an implied action, usually typed under a picture of Katee Sackhoff. It is more specifically the noise that someone would make, due to the fact that they passed out, and hit their head due to Katee Sackhoff “hotness.” The word THUD is the sound that is likely made when one’s head makes contact with the table and/or floor.
Treehouse, The:
The main Spanker hangout as of this very moment of writing this entry in this very Glossary.
TongueGlomp:
While the origin and meaning of the word “glomp” is still relatively unknown to certain member of Team Spank, the “Tongue You Can't Use That Word Here. It is Far Too Uncool for TeamSpank HQ” is generally used as a response to the Tackle Frak ) It is a screen cap from the Paintsex scene, in which the cylon Leoben Conroy (played by Callum Keith Rennie) has Kara pinned against the wall, and it is visibly shoving his tongue in her mouth.
TongueGlomp
