The Magical Expression Zone, Part 1: The Development |

So, as many spanks have discussed in great detail before, our team leader, Katee Sackhoff, has amazing acting chops. What has not been as closely
examined, however, is the unbelievable acting chops of the square inch space found between her eyebrows. Katee has the uncanny ability to express
the entire spectrum of human emotion with only this square inch of skin. In a “normal” individual, this square inch is involved in the expression
of several emotions, (such as anger, sadness) but in Katee, this Magical Expression Zone (or MEZ for short) portrays oh so much more.
In fact, the acting chops contained in that
square inch out-perform any other actor in their entirety. Katee wasn’t born with this amazing ability, however, like all great things, the MEZ went
through many stages of development. Let’s explore the rise of this remarkable phenomenon...
Katee began her acting career as a teenage mother in “Fifteen and Pregnant” where she gave the most moving monologue of
the entire film (it was no maelstrom, but pretty damn good for a kid).
And what? What’s that I see? Is it the early roots of the MEZ?
Katee went on to some random pilots and then one season of portraying Richard Dryfus’s rebellious daughter on “The Education of Max Bickford.”
Now I can’t really tell you if the MEZ made any appearances it that short lived show because there are no fucking dvd’s available, but obviously
Katee’s acting chops flourished during this time because we next see her in BSG where the full potential of the MEZ is fully realized.
In the mini we get a taste the mind-boggling powers of the MEZ where it begins to express emotions such as:

(Somehow, Starbuck’s helmet seems to bring out the powers of the MEZ at this stage in its development)
Next, we come to Season 1 where the MEZ continues its on its path to greatness. Katee no longer needs the helmet to support the MEZ and it is seen
in a variety of settings:
And finally, part way through the first season, Katee finds her stride and the abilities of the MEZ come to full realization in the joy that is
Act of Contrition.

Now that Katee has harnessed the full power of the Magical Expression Zone, she soon
uses it to ingeniously display the full spectrum of human emotions…
